Frequently Asked Questions
What car will I use for my test?
You will use the car you trained to drive in with us, we normally pick you up an hour before your test time, to give plenty of time before the test and also get in a couple of manoeuvres to help settle an nerves. The cost is priced at the equivalent to a two-hour lesson.
Do the examiners fail a certain number of pupils each month?
No there are no limits to pass rates; basically as long as you are good enough there is no reason outside of your control why you would fail.
How many lessons will I need?
It all depends on your ability and whether you have any previous experience on the road. The national average is 40 hours training. We have certain criteria that we must teach but no time limits. The more effort you put in the quicker you will learn. We also actively encourage getting practice in between lessons with family members if possible.
Can I start driving lessons with an instructor before passing my theory test?
We recommend you take practical lessons while preparing for your theory test. The combination of practical experience with theoretical learning should help you perform better at the theory test.
Can I take my car theory test before my 17th birthday?
You can only take your theory test once your provisional licence becomes valid. For a car this will be your 17th birthday. You can, however book your theory test before your 17th birthday. Candidates in receipt of Disability Mobility Allowance at the higher rate may take their theory test before their 17th birthday as long as they have a valid provisional licence
